Statuses

Project and Location statuses allow greater control over the state of the project/location.

This page refers to "projects", since both a project and location are quite similar. However, all Project Status related documentation also applies to locations.

When a project is created, you control the project at a higher level. A project can be controlled by changing its status.

Pending

Projects are created in the pending state. A project remains in the pending state until it has started. During this stage, you can modify the project and its tasks without any limitations. The entire project can be deleted while in this stage.

While in the pending state, no work should be done. Task status are locked in the "Not Started" status.

Active

When a project is started, it is in the active state. At this point, the tasklists are mostly fixed. Tasks cannot be deleted or rearranged. The task details cannot be modified, however, their statuses can be updated. Any time-keeping fields are locked (such as task duration and due date). Workers can begin working and manage tasks that belong to them.

On Hold

An active project can be placed on hold. This is meant to be a temporary status that locks the project down. Workers will not be able to resume their work, and their tasks are locked.

Managers can use this time to rearrange tasks, modify due dates and durations, etc. However, since the project has already started, the project is still read-only.

Completed

When all tasks are completed, an active project will give the option to mark the project as complete. When the button is clicked, the project is officially completed. Everything within the project is made read-only.

A completed project cannot be reopened. Nothing about the project, at this point, can be changed.
